The Grand Palais like you've never seen it
From April 23 to 26, 2026, the Grand Palais in Paris hosts one of the most anticipated events on the European HYROX calendar. Under the historic glass roof that sheltered the fencing and taekwondo events during the 2024 Paris Olympics, thousands of athletes will run, push, pull, and carry their way through 8 kilometers and 8 fitness stations.
The Grand Palais is one of the most singular venues HYROX has ever used. The natural light filtering through the glass, the volume of the central nave, and the building's distinct acoustics create an atmosphere no sports hall can replicate.
The HYROX format: what you'll actually do
HYROX is simple in concept, hard in execution. You run 1 kilometer, then complete a fitness station. Repeat 8 times.
The 8 stations are the same at every HYROX event worldwide:
1. Ski Erg (1,000m) / 2. Sled Push (50m) / 3. Sled Pull (50m) / 4. Burpee Broad Jump (80m) / 5. Rowing (1,000m) / 6. Farmers Carry (200m) / 7. Sandbag Lunges (100m) / 8. Wall Balls (75 or 100 reps depending on division)
Total: 8km of running plus 8 stations. Average finish time for an Open athlete falls between 1:10 and 1:45.
Divisions at Paris 2026
Four competition formats are available at the Paris edition:
Open (Men/Women): the standard HYROX race, demanding but accessible to most athletes with 6 to 8 weeks of specific preparation.
Pro (Men/Women): same format, heavier loads, for experienced athletes who've completed multiple HYROX events.
Doubles (Men/Women/Mixed): in pairs, you run together and share the station work with your partner.
Relay (Men/Women/Mixed): in teams of 4, each participant completes 2 x 1km and 2 stations.
What makes Paris unique on the HYROX calendar
Paris is historically one of the best-attended HYROX events in Europe. The 2026 Grand Palais edition brings together several thousand athletes across 4 days of racing.
The Grand Palais setting adds a symbolic layer to the performance. This is the same building where Romain Cannone won Olympic gold in épée in 2021, and where the Paris Games inscribed several iconic moments in 2024.
For a first HYROX in France, this is the edition to not miss.
Practical tips for participants
The Grand Palais is located on Avenue Winston Churchill in the 8th arrondissement. The nearest metro is Line 1, Champs-Élysées - Clemenceau.
The day before your session, prepare your bib and kit. The collective warm-up is organized 30 minutes before your wave start. Bring versatile training shoes: the stations involve lateral movements and loaded carries that don't suit most marathon shoes.
